Mother laments son's death in New Haven crash.
In an exclusive interview with News 8 on Thursday, the mother of a 13-year-old boy who tragically lost his life in a car crash in New Haven shared her heartbreak. The incident occurred early Sunday morning on Whalley Avenue while the boy, Marshall Curry, was being pursued by two New Haven Police Department cruisers in a stolen vehicle. Marshall's mother, Jen Baker, expressed her sorrow, emphasizing that although her son may have made a mistake in stealing the car, he did not deserve such a tragic outcome. She questioned why the police did not terminate the pursuit. Despite Marshall's imperfections, Baker described him as a good student who had never been in trouble before. She lamented the choice he made but stressed that he should still be alive. Baker expressed her love for her son and shared that she wished Marshall had made a different decision. The tragic crash also claimed the life of a girl whose identity has not been revealed. The incident remains under investigation by Connecticut State Police.
