Moped rider seriously injured in Boston crash
A moped rider is in critical condition following a crash in Dorchester on Friday night, according to Boston police.The collision occurred just after 7 p.m. in the area of Columbia Road and Ceylon Street.Officers responding to a report of a moped that collided with a motor vehicle found the moped driver unresponsive on the ground, fading in and out of consciousness, according to police.The moped rider was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene, according to police, and it's unclear if they will face any charges.Columbia Road is closed in both directions from Quincy Street to Geneva Avenue while the investigation unfolds.Detectives from Boston's Fatal Collision Reconstruction team were called to assist at the scene due to the severity of the moped driver's injuries.No further information was immediately available.
