A Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy was killed after being struck by a vehicle while responding to an earlier traffic accident on Interstate 45, authorities said.The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were on the scene investigating a multi-vehicle crash on I-45 North near Lake Woodlands when the deputy was hit.The identity of the deputy has not yet been officially released by the sheriff's office, but law enforcement agencies across the region began mourning her death."Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy who was tragically killed last night while working a crash scene on Interstate 45," Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman said in a statement.
