Missouri State Highway Patrol answers over 1,200 service calls in winter storm.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) provided an update on their activities during this weekend's winter storm in Kansas City, Missouri. The snow accumulation exceeded six inches in the metro area and resulted in hazardous driving conditions throughout the state. MSHP received a total of 1,234 calls for assistance, including aiding 248 stranded motorists, responding to 182 non-injury crashes, handling 26 injury crashes, and one fatal crash in Warren County. Unfortunately, the fatal crash claimed the life of a 62-year-old man and left a 42-year-old man seriously injured. Despite the challenging road conditions, MSHP determined that the weather was not a primary factor in the fatal accident. The agency advises drivers to prioritize safety on the roads and avoid clustering around snow plows.
