Minor sustains life-threatening injuries during ATV crash in Sandusky
A nasty ATV accident injures two minors, leaving one in critical condition. The crash occurred Saturday afternoon, just before 2 o' clock according to reports by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Sandusky Post. A 10-year-old child was driving an All-Terrain Vehicle down a private road with a 13-year-old passenger before getting on State Route 113 in Erie County. Once the ATV entered the highway it was hit by another driver in a Toyota Rav4. The ATV caught fire while the Rav4 veered off the road, overturned and struck a utility pole. Both children riding on the ATV were taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center, however the 13-year-old injuries were so severe they were Life-flighted to UH Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital. It is not clear if the driver of the Rav4, Martin Klenk of Berlin Heights, was taken to the hospital. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
