Milwaukee police squad car damaged in separate crash during chase

A Milwaukee police chase on June 9 ended after the suspect's vehicle crashed into parked cars near 26th and Burleigh streets. Officers in a squad were also involved in a separate crash during the chase, according to the Milwaukee Police Department.Just before 4 p.m., police said they saw a vehicle near 26th and Center streets wanted in connection with a shooting that happened just before 8 a.m. near 44th and Center streets.Officers tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused, prompting the chase.Police said the chase ended when the suspect lost control of their vehicle and crashed into two parked cars. Nobody was inside those parked cars. Two people, a 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, got out of the vehicle after the crash and were later taken into custody after a quick foot chase. Both men were taken to a hospital for what police described as "non-fatal injuries."A gun was also found, police said, but did not specify if it was found inside the vehicle or somewhere else.During the chase, a police squad was involved in a minor crash with another vehicle not involved in the chase.
