KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — 6 News is keeping track of the number of traffic fatalities in East Tennessee. As of Feb. 16, 17 traffic fatalities have been reported across 26 East Tennessee counties so far in 2026. Last year, 280 fatalities were reported, down from 320 in 2024. In the past 10 years, 2021 saw the most fatalities in East Tennessee, with 342 reported by the state. The charts below will be updated as we learn new information.
