Man who admitted to causing deadly Flathead drunk driving crash found dead prior to sentencing
A man who had admitted to causing a deadly drunk driving collision near Bigfork in 2024 was discovered dead in Missoula County after failing to show up for his sentencing. Officials suspect that Dal Segall may have taken his own life, but a formal investigation will be carried out by law enforcement and the coroner’s office. Following his absence at the sentencing, a bench warrant was issued by Flathead County Judge Heidi Ulbricht, leading to the authorities finding Segall's body. Earlier, Segall had changed his plea to guilty on charges related to the crash, which included Vehicular Homicide While Under the Influence and Negligent Vehicular Assault. Prior to his passing, a plea agreement had suggested a 60-year prison sentence with 20 years suspended.
