Man sentenced to 40 years for fatal 2022 hit-and-run crash
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- A Hays County judge sentenced a man to 40 years in prison in connection with a deadly hit-and-run in January 2022. According to Hays County court documents, 32-year-old Jordan Michael Sannicola pleaded not guilty to a second-degree felony accident involving death. His sentencing will run concurrently with his prior offenses. The sentence is related to a hit-and-run crash involving a box truck that killed Iliana Velez. Toward his sentencing, Sannicola will get 987 days of total jail time credit.
