Man loses part of hand in accident at York County FedEx facility; family creates GoFundMe

A local family is asking the public for support after a FedEx employee lost part of his hand during a workplace accident. Family members tell CBS 21 it happened at the FedEx facility at 510 Industrial Drive in Lewisberry on June 30. OSHA indicated an investigation was opened into the incident the following day on July 1. The family of the man, Matt Estep, created a GoFundMe to help with medical costs. "On what should have been an ordinary workday, Matt Estep suffered a devastating workplace accident that changed his family’s life in an instant," the GoFundMe reads. "He lost a portion of his hand and two fingers and now faces a long road of surgeries, rehabilitation, healing, and learning to adapt to a new way of life." The fundraiser, which has a goal of $11,000, says workers compensation will help with lost income, but the family still needs help covering the costs of medical appointments and physical therapy.
