Man in Las Vegas allegedly drank 6 beverages before fatal collision, police report

A man in Las Vegas, Eric Villazana, was taken into custody and charged with various offenses, including a hit-and-run resulting in a fatal crash that took the life of a federal worker. According to an official report, Villazana had consumed at least five beers and a mixed drink before the incident. Handled as a felony, his charges include failing to stop at the crash scene, driving under the influence resulting in death, and not obeying traffic signals. The tragic accident occurred at an intersection where a motorcyclist, Abraham Ibale, was hit by a pickup truck driven by Villazana, who fled the scene. Ibale did not survive his injuries. Villazana was identified as the possible suspect through witness statements, surveillance footage, and the discovery of his damaged pickup truck, where beer glasses and a Taco Bell receipt were found. Ibale, originally from the Philippines, had been working for the Transportation Security Administration in Las Vegas. His devastated family expressed their grief and their desire for justice. Villazana remains in custody and is due to appear in court later this month.
