Man hospitalized and arrested after Brookfield shootout
A man, 31, was seriously injured after a shootout with Brookfield police near Barker and River roads following a car crash. Police reported that shots were exchanged and the man was taken into custody with serious injuries. Although no officers were injured by gunfire, one was hurt during the response. The man, referred to as a possible suspect in a Waukesha drive-by shooting over the police radio, remains under investigation. Debris from the scene remained on Barker Road the following day.
