Man fixing flat tire struck, killed in Elk Grove hit-and-run, officials say
A man died after he was hit by a vehicle while fixing a flat tire in Elk Grove on Tuesday, according to the police department. As of 8:15 p.m., Elk Grove police said Bruceville Road was closed in both directions between Bilby Road and Boa Nova Drive as its officers investigated the crash. Officials said the victim, a 61-year-old man, was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries. Elk Grove police described the suspect vehicle as a Dodge pickup truck that would likely have damage to the front passenger side. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact the Elk Grove Police Department.
