Man dies in Montcalm County steel recycling center accident
In a tragic incident on Saturday at Greenville Steel in Montcalm County, a 26-year-old man named Daniel Evans lost his life while unloading a flatbed truck at the recycling center and steel supplier. According to Michigan State Police Sixth District, the accident happened at around 11:45 a.m. while Evans and another person were delivering a scrapped forklift for a local company. Unfortunately, during the unloading process, the flatbed encountered resistance, causing Evans to become trapped between the flatbed and the truck's cab. Despite efforts to save him, Evans was pronounced dead at the scene. The Michigan State Police and MIOSHA officials conducted an investigation into the incident. It was noted that the flatbed belonged to J&A Towing of Belding, and Greenville Steel was not directly involved in the unloading process.
