Man dies in head-on Trumbull County crash: OSHP
VIENNA TWP., Ohio (WKBN)- The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in Vienna Township on Monday night. OSHP said that Robert Pearce, 70, of Howland, died in the crash. Troopers responded to Warren Sharon Road near Roy Road in Vienna Township shortly after 10 p.m. Reports said that Pearce was traveling west on Warren Sharon Road when the vehicle he was driving hit a couple of mailboxes and then struck another driver head-on. Troopers said that both vehicles went off the roadway. Both drivers were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown. Pearce died from his injuries. OSHP said that the other driver underwent immediate surgery and is in stable condition. Reports said that neither driver was wearing a seatbelt. Alcohol and drugs were not believed to be a factor in the crash. OSHP said that the crash remains under investigation.
