Man dead, USPS worker injured after car crash in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY (WFXR) - On the morning of Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m., Montgomery County first responders arrived to the 2200 block of Alleghany Spring Road after reports of a fatal car accident. The driver of a Jeep Cherokee veered off the road and hit a USPS mail delivery vehicle, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. First responders determined at the scene that the driver, identified as James Gordon Norwood of Elliston, Va., died on impact. The USPS driver was sent to the New River Valley Medical center with non-life threatening injuries.
