Man arrested in connection with multi-car crash in Warwick
WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) -- A Lincoln man was arrested Saturday night in connection to a three-car crash in Warwick. Around 9 p.m., police said they received a call from a woman saying that her ex-boyfriend, 36-year old Jared Parenteau, took her car without permission and was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. When officers tried to stop Parenteau, they say he kept driving, ran a red light at the intersection of Warwick Ave. and Post Road, then struck three vehicles. No one was seriously hurt, but the drivers and passengers from those vehicles were taken to area hospital to be treated for their injuries. Parenteau was taken into custody shortly after. Police have not said what the exact charges he is facing, though he was wanted on outstanding felony domestic violence charges. The incident is still under investigation.
