Man airlifted after car rear-ends semi at GA 57 and GA 68 intersection

One man was airlifted to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of GA 57 and GA 68 in Washington County, when a passenger car rear-ended a semi-truck that was stopped to make a left turn. According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred on Thursday around 12 p.m. DID YOU HEAR | Fire breaks out Wednesday night on Mercer University Drive; cause under investigation The semi-truck, with no trailer, was traveling east and came to a complete stop at the stop sign before attempting to make a left turn on GA 68 to travel north. The other vehicle was traveling east on GA 57, behind the semi-truck, but, according to GSP, the vehicle was following the semi-truck too closely, resulting in the vehicle striking the rear of the semi-truck inside the intersection.
