Man accused of deadly crash in South Carolina due to unsecured scrap metal, per police
According to the North Charleston Police Department, a man in South Carolina has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash caused by loose scrap metal on the road. The collision occurred on Highway 78 and NAD Road on December 12, resulting in the death of a woman after her vehicle collided with a commercial vehicle. Authorities have identified Mario Alavez Hernandez as the individual responsible for failing to properly secure the scrap metal in his truck, leading to the debris being left on the roadway and contributing to the deadly accident. Despite Hernandez's vehicle not being directly involved in the crash, he has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and taken into custody at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
