Man accused in fatal pedestrian collision in East Downtown, as reported by HPD

A man in Houston has been arrested and faces charges related to a deadly collision in the East Downtown area. The individual, Enrique Barocio, aged 27, was charged with intoxicated manslaughter following the incident which occurred late on Sunday night on Pierce Street. Tragically, a 32-year-old woman lost her life in the crash. Barocio displayed signs of intoxication after the collision, where a speeding Ford Expedition collided with parked cars before striking the pedestrian. Emergency responders pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. Barocio is currently in custody at the Harris County Jail.
