Major traffic collision in Lodi leaves pedestrian in critical condition
(FOX40.COM) — A pedestrian was critically injured Wednesday evening after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of North Church Street and West Elm Street, according to the Lodi Police Department. Lodi police said its officers responded to what was initially described as a major traffic collision and asked motorists to avoid the area due to expected delays. In an update released around 8:20 p.m., investigators reported that the collision involved a vehicle and a pedestrian. A woman was transported to a local hospital and was reported to be in critical condition. Authorities stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police also determined that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the crash. The roadway has since reopened.
