Lehigh Acres man arrested after turning himself in for 2025 crash that killed pedestrian

A man was arrested on DUI manslaughter charges after turning himself in during an investigation into a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in 2025 in Fort Myers.According to the Fort Myers Police Department, officers responded to the fatal crash on Colonial Boulevard in December 2025.Upon arrival, officers say they found a dead pedestrian who had been hit. A blue Chevrolet Cruze was also found at the scene of the crash, however, the driver was unresponsive. EMS was contacted to remove the driver, later identified as Michael Espinosa Ramirez, 27.Officers say an investigation revealed alcohol in Espinosa Ramirez's car. Additional probable cause indicated that he was drunk at the time of the crash.Warrants were issued, and on Wednesday Espinosa Ramirez turned himself in at the Fort Myers Police Department.
