LeFlore County man killed in worksite accident
MCCURTAIN COUNTY, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — A 23-year-old construction worker from LeFlore County was killed Thursday morning in an industrial accident involving heavy equipment in McCurtain County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. OHP troopers say the collision happened around 9:13 a.m. on Feb. 5 in Idabel. The worker was disassembling a counterweight from the back of a CAT 365C excavator when the counterweight fell and struck him, according to the report. The worker was identified as Ryan J. Moore of Heavner and was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, according to OHP.
