Lake City man killed in Missaukee County farming accident
MISSAUKEE COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A 59-year-old Lake City man is dead after falling from a tractor and becoming entangled in a hay baler in Missaukee County on Tuesday, June 16, according to the sheriff's office. According to the Missaukee County Sheriff's Office, deputies and Missaukee EMS responded around 4:53 p.m. to the 2000 block of East Houghton Lake Road in Forest Township after receiving a report of a farming accident. Investigators say the man was fatally injured after falling from a tractor and becoming entangled in a hay baler. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The Merritt Fire Department assisted with recovery efforts. The incident remains under investigation. Authorities say no foul play is suspected.
