Jefferson Parish fire chief mourns loss of Lt. Dennis Casey Jr. after fatal boat accident
A 24-year veteran of the Jefferson Parish Fire Department was killed Friday night in a boating accident near the Chef Pass Bridge, according to parish officials.Officials identified the victim as Lt. Dennis Casey Jr.Emergency medical services said crews responded to a call about a boating accident in the area around 8:30 p.m. and found a man dead at the scene.Parish officials said Casey died in a personal watercraft accident.WDSU anchor Aubry Killion spoke to Chief Charles Hudson in a live and emotional interview."Someone that loved to serve," Hudson said.
