JCSO: 1 dead, 3 injured following Johnson County crash
JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- One person was pronounced dead and three others were transported to the hospital for treatment following a reported crash on Tuesday. According to a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of West State Road 135 and County Road 500 West (Spearsville Road) on a report of a serious vehicle crash. Officials said in the release that one individual was pronounced dead on the scene. Threee others were transported to Indianapolis-area hospitals for treatment. Officials said that one of the individuals was transported by Lifeline helicopter. The release said that the intersection, State Road 135 at Spearsville Road, will remain closed "for an undetermined amount of time" as the investigation into the fatal crash continues. "The Johnson County Sheriff's office asks motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes," the release said. This story will be updated as more informaiton becomes available.
