Jacksonville man killed in single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County

TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — A Jacksonville man was killed Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. ALEA said Jonathan D. Goodner, 47, was driving a 2023 Ford Edge when the vehicle left the roadway around 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4. Investigators said the SUV struck a road sign, a ditch and a tree. Goodner was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to ALEA. The crash happened on Alabama Highway 216 near the 20-mile marker, about five miles west of Brookwood in Tuscaloosa County. Troopers with ALEA's Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the crash.
