Iowa State Patrol investigates fatal crash in eastern Iowa
A 57-year-old from Sterling, Illinois, was killed Sunday afternoon following a crash in eastern Iowa.According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened shortly before 3 p.m. at 19th Avenue Northwest and Mill Creek Parkway in Clinton. The ISP said the 57-year-old was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Impala northbound on 19th Avenue NW and was struck in the intersection by a 2015 Ram 1500 driven by a resident of Clinton.The driver of the Impala was transported to the hospital by ambulance, where they were later pronounced dead.The crash remains under investigation. Officials have not released any names at this time.According to the latest data from the Iowa Department of Transportation, 50 people have died so far this year on Iowa roads. That number is nine more than at the same point in 2025. Over the last five years, an average of 337 people have been killed in statewide crashes annually.
