Investigation underway after fatal accident in Hopkins County
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- An investigation is underway after a fatal accident in Hopkins County. A release from the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office says crews were called to a wreck in front of 2234 Central City Road in Madisonville on Friday. A caller told dispatch a vehicle had overturned in a ditch and the driver was trapped inside. Upon arrival, the sheriff's department and the Anton Fire Department extracted the driver. The driver was taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, where they later died from their injuries. Deputies have identified the driver as Halbert Jones. The cause of the accident has not yet been released. Officials say the accident is under investigation.
