Investigation into distracted driving in crash that claimed life of 16-year-old in Long Beach

Authorities in Long Beach are investigating a tragic collision that resulted in the death of a 16-year-old girl. The incident, which occurred at Long Beach Boulevard and Wardlow Road, involved a Saturn Aura and a Jeep Wrangler. Police suspect that speed and distracted driving may have played a role in the crash. The 17-year-old male driver of the Saturn and his female passenger, also 16, sustained critical injuries and were taken to the hospital. Sadly, the young girl did not survive her injuries. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed due to her age. The driver of the Jeep was unharmed and stayed at the crash site.
