Interstate 79 Reopens Near Warrendale After Tractor-Trailer Accident

The northbound lanes of Interstate 79 near the Warrandale exit were closed for hours on Friday due to a traffic accident. The Pennsylvania State Police reported that a tractor-trailer traveling southward crossed the median and collided with a van going in the opposite direction. Another truck was also involved in the accident after being hit by the initial truck, causing it to also cross over the median and crash into the van head-on. Three individuals, two from the van and one from the truck, were hospitalized for their injuries. As of now, their conditions remain unknown. By 2 p.m., two lanes of northbound I-79 were reopened, with the far-left lane remaining closed for barrier repair work. Drivers are advised to be cautious while passing through the area. Although the southbound lanes were temporarily closed, they were later reopened.
