Inland Empire high-speed rollover crash leaves 1 dead

A single-vehicle rollover crash left a person dead in the Inland Empire on Sunday morning, authorities say. The California Highway Patrol confirmed to KTLA that the crash occurred on the westbound span of State Route 60 near Jack Rabbit Trail, located west of Beaumont, around 11:30 a.m. The vehicle involved reportedly lost control and rolled over before coming to rest on its roof down an embankment and under a tree, CHP said, adding that the vehicle was heavily damaged. First responders arrived at the scene and confirmed one fatality. No identifying information regarding the decedent was disclosed. According to CHP, speed played a factor in the crash. One lane of the 60 was shut down during the response to the crash, which remains under investigation.  Mitzi Vasquez contributed to this report.
