INDOT closes section of I-465 for crash with Indiana State Police
Sections of I-465 and I-70 at the east side interchange in Indianapolis were shut down temporarily on Tuesday due to icy conditions and several accidents. The Indiana Department of Transportation officials reported that multiple lanes of I-465 southbound were closed near the 44-mile marker due to an accident involving a state trooper at around 9:56 a.m. Shortly after, at 11:13 a.m., Indiana State Police closed a section of I-70 westbound near the interchange due to multiple accidents and icy conditions, redirecting all traffic onto I-465. Both highways were reopened by 12:30 p.m., with authorities advising drivers to be cautious while on the road.
