Identification of victim in Rockford crash that killed two teen girls
The Winnebago County Coroner has identified one of the individuals involved in a tragic fatal crash in Rockford. An 18-year-old driver and her 14-year-old passenger were in a single-vehicle accident on Mulford Road, resulting in their deaths due to blunt trauma. The driver, Leslie Moreno-Rivera, and her passenger were taken to the hospital after the crash but unfortunately could not be saved. A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Moreno-Rivera's family during this difficult time. Family members of the 14-year-old victim, whose identity has not been disclosed by the coroner's office, have also organized a fundraising effort for the community's help.
