UPDATE (2:00 p.m.): The individual who tragically lost their life in a recent motorcycle accident near Interstate 15 and state Route 78 has been identified as Mason Boulais, a 23-year-old resident of Escondido. (CNS) - An inquiry is underway regarding the fatality of a 23-year-old motorcyclist in San Marcos. San Diego County Sheriff's Office disclosed that at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies were dispatched after a collision involving a white Nissan Altima sedan and a Kawasaki ZX-10R motorcycle occurred in the 2300 block of Montiel Road. Efforts were made by deputies and paramedics to assist the gravely injured motorcyclist, who was unresponsive in the westbound lane of Montiel Road and was tragically pronounced deceased at 5:52 p.m. The driver of the Nissan stayed at the scene and assisted with the investigation. No details have been released regarding the driver's age and the identities of the parties involved. The involvement of alcohol or drugs in the incident is currently uncertain per the sheriff's office, urging any witnesses or individuals with relevant information to reach out to the San Marcos Sheriff's Station at 760-510-5200.
