I-96 reopens near Clarksville after semi-truck crash

BERLIN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — State police say a semi-truck driver swerved to avoid a deer and crashed, snarling traffic on I-96 near Clarksville for hours Monday morning. It happened on westbound I-96 near Jordan Lake Road. After swerving for the deer, the semi-truck hit the guardrail, left the road and tipped over, according to the Michigan State Police. No injuries were reported, but crews had to use a heavy-duty tow truck and crane to remove the overturned semi-truck. As a result, the highway was closed after Jordan Lake Road for hours. By 11:30 a.m., all lanes were back open, the Michigan Department of Transportation reported.
