Huron County woman killed in Oliver Township crash identified

An Elkton-area woman killed when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a ditch in Huron County's Oliver Township on April 4 has been identified. According to a press release from the Huron County Sheriff's Office, Lindsey L. Miller, 40, died early Saturday after she lost control while driving at a high rate of speed, crashed into a ditch and was ejected from her vehicle. According to a press release from Huron County Sheriff Kelly Hanson, deputies responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash around 3:26 a.m. Saturday to Berne Road just west of Elkton Road in Oliver Township. Hanson said passersby spotted a heavily damaged Pontiac G6 in the north ditch. When they approached the crash scene, they discovered the vehicle's lone occupant, the female driver, had been ejected. The driver was deceased. A preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle was headed westbound at a high rate of speed when it likely drove through the Elkton Road intersection. Once through the intersection, the driver lost control, and the vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest, Hanson said. Sheriff's office crash investigators responded to the scene, along with an investigator from the Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Oliver Township Fire Department and Elkton Ambulance Service also responded to the scene of the crash. Hanson added that an investigation into the crash is underway.
