Hobart officers save injured fawn after car crash
HOBART, Wis. (WFRV) -- Hobart officers responded to an injured victim of a car crash on July 10. Except in this case, the victim wasn't human. The Hobart/Lawrence Police Department took to Facebook to share an uplifting story about two officers who rescued a young fawn that had been hit by a car. The injured fawn was able to be transported to a local wildlife rehabilitation sanctuary for help due to the quick response time of Officer Nelsen and Corporal Cambray, as well as "the compassion of a helpful citizen," according to the post. "We're grateful for community members who step up to help and for officers who are always willing to lend a hand -- whether it's to a neighbor, a pet, or one of Wisconsin's wild residents." The Department wishes the fawn a speedy recovery from its injuries. WFRV will update this story as necessary.
