Head-on crash near Reo claims two lives, driver arrested

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - A crash near Reo has left two people dead, Indiana State Police investigating and a driver arrested. According to a release, at about 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, ISP and Spencer County deputies responded to a head on collision on SR 66. The crash left two dead and two others injured. Officials say the road was closed for about 2 1/2 hours while the crash was being investigated. An ISP Trooper says the driver of a 2019 Chevrolet pickup was traveling west when he drove over the center line and collided with a 2014 Toyota Corolla going east. The driver of the Toyota, Larry Lindsey, 54, of Rockport, and a passenger in the rear seat, Barry Morris, 64, of Whitesville were pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger in the Toyota, Jonathan Hurm, 49, of Owensboro, was transported to an Evansville hospital and later transferred to an Indianapolis hospital for injuries. The driver of the pickup was identified as 29-year-old Lindsey Baxter, 29, of Evansville. He was taken to an Evansville hospital and released. The Spencer County Prosecutor's Office later issued a felony warrant for Baxter. He was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at about 1 p.m. He will be booked into the Spencer County Jail on the following charges.
