Greensboro police: Victim identified in fatal moped crash
A woman has died after she was hit by a vehicle while on a moped, according to the Greensboro Police Department.Anastasia Cooper, 21, died on Friday as a result of injuries sustained in a crash.On June 14, around 3 a.m., officers responded to Spring Garden Street near Eula Street for a crash involving serious injuries.Police said Makayka Theng was driving a Lexus SUV when she made a U-turn in front of a man and Cooper on a moped, causing the crash.Theng was initially charged with driving while impaired and failure to yield resulting in serious injury. Police said she now also faces charges of felony death by vehicle, felony serious injury by vehicle, and unsafe tires.She is currently being held in the Alamance County Jail without bond.
