Grand jury indicts truck driver in I-71 crash that killed family
DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH) -- A grand jury on Thursday indicted a truck driver in connection with a crash on Interstate 71 that killed a family. Modou Ngom, 50, of Columbus, was indicted on three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and four counts of vehicular assault in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas. Ngom was driving a semi-truck and trailer just before 6:30 p.m. on I-71 near the U.S. 36/State Route 37 interchange and failed to stop while approaching traffic. The truck hit several vehicles from behind and led to the wreck. Lynnea Soposki, 36, and Luke Soposki, 37, along with their 1-year-old son, Logan, died in the crash while three others were hospitalized. I-71 in both directions near the crash site was closed for several hours on Saturday evening.
