Gibson County law enforcement agencies form accident investigation team

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- The Princeton Police Department and Gibson County Sheriff’s Office have announced the formation of a new Major Accident Investigation Team. According to officials, MAIT is a joint task force designed to strengthen the county’s response to serious and complex motor-vehicle collisions. Officials say the partnership will allow the agencies to pool together resources and training so officials can get more accurate investigations while improving public safety across Princeton and Gibson County. “Our agencies have always worked well together, and this formal partnership allows us to takethat cooperation even further,” says Sheriff Bruce Vanoven. “This team will ensure that we arefully prepared to respond quickly and professionally to serious traffic accidents quickly andprofessionally.” Officials say MAIT will focus on incidents involving serious bodily injury, fatalities, and other circumstances requiring advanced reconstruction or extended on-scene processing. The team will also participate in ongoing joint training to maintain high investigative standards and stay current with evolving technologies. “Collaboration is the key to effective public safety," says Princeton Police Chief Bobby Wood. "By combining our resources and standardizing our response, we can better serve the residents of Princeton and Gibson County during some of the most critical and stressful moments on our roadways."
