Germantown man dies after being hit by car in parking lot accident
GERMANTOWN, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police officials said that a 72-year-old man died after a family member hit him with a car. The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said that on Friday, officers responded to the parking lot of 11600 Drumcastle Terrace for a crash around 12:35 p.m. Police said that 72-year-old Abdul Kaium Mohammad Hakim of Germantown was getting into a car when the driver started to reverse the vehicle, causing him to fall. The car then hit Hakim. Responders found Hakim with life-threatening injuries in the parking lot. They took him to a nearby hospital, where he died. Police said that the driver stayed on the scene and was cooperating with investigators. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at 240-773-6620.
