Gardendale man killed in single-vehicle accident
A single-vehicle crash on I-65 has taken the life of a 48-year-old Gardendale man. Alfred J. Harkley was driving near the 265 mile marker, about one mile north of Fultondale, when his 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the road. Harkley and his Jeep struck a light pole, critically injuring him. He was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately succumbed his injuries. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are investigating what lead up to the crash.
