Garden City man dies following rollover crash
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Kansas Highway Patrol said a 21-year-old Garden City man died following a rollover crash Monday. It happened just south of the city at U.S. Highway 83 and Burnside Drive around 8:20 p.m. The KHP said the driver of a Mitsubishi Eclipse was traveling east on Burnside Drive when the vehicle went left of center, overcorrected, slid and then rolled. The driver of car, Anthony J. Abete, was taken to St. Catherine Hospital, where he died of injuries. A passenger, a 19-year-old Garden City man, suffered serious injuries and was admitted to the hospital. Neither were wearing seat belts, according to the KHP report.
