Fundraiser for Huntingdon man who claims police coverup after crash raises over $25,000
Nicholas Carrozza, aged 36, has accused the North Huntingdon Township Police Department (NHTPD) of concealing a car crash incident from July 2024. Carrozza, from Pennsylvania, has established a GoFundMe campaign that has garnered significant backing from the community, raising over half of its initial funding target in just one week. The car collision occurred on July 7, 2024, when Carrozza's partner, Kathleen Morcheid, was driving their son, Jordan, and their vehicle was involved in a head-on crash at the intersection of Brokers Lane and Clay Pike Road in North Huntingdon Township. Morcheid suffered a traumatic brain injury from the collision, and Carrozza claimed that their son was left traumatised as a result. Carrozza asserted that the other driver was speeding at 90 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone, crossed the yellow line, and caused the head-on crash. In a YouTube video shared in March 2025, Carrozza accused the NHTPD of straying from standard procedures during their investigation into the incident. He expressed frustration over the alleged obstruction and mishandling of evidence by the police, making it challenging to pursue justice in the Pennsylvania courts. While advocating against the local authorities, Carrozza has faced accusations of recording unlawfully in the police lobby, disrupting a township commissioner's meeting, and endangering a public safety official, leading him to face trial after being charged in three cases. The community has rallied behind Carrozza's cause, contributing over $25,000 to support him through the GoFundMe campaign.
