Fort Wayne Police investigate fiery Uber crash

Fort Wayne, Ind. (WANE) - The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, leaving at least three people injured. Shortly after midnight, police, medics, and fire crews were called to the scene of a crash at the intersection of East Wayne Street and South Clinton Street. At the scene, they found two heavily damaged vehicles at the intersection. One vehicle was transporting Uber passengers, and following the two cars colliding, one vehicle caught fire, which the Fort Wayne Fire Department quickly extinguished. One of the passengers is in life-threatening condition, and two others are in serious condition. Early investigations revealed the vehicle transporting the Uber passengers was traveling east on East Wayne Street when the other vehicle, traveling south on Clinton, is believed to have ignored a red light, hitting the Uber.
