Footage: Apprehension of alleged intoxicated driver responsible for fatal collision in Los Lunas
In Los Lunas, New Mexico, a tragic incident occurred involving a man named Richard Molina, 37, who was arrested for a deadly DWI crash. The crash resulted in the death of a mother, Veronica Ferraro, and severe injuries to her two children. Police body camera footage captured Molina asking to be arrested after realizing the consequences of his actions. The incident took place on El Cerro Loop and Sandhill Road, where Molina was driving drunk in the wrong lane, leading to a head-on collision with the family's SUV. Molina exhibited signs of intoxication, such as bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol, confessing to consuming alcohol before driving. Despite refusal to cooperate with field sobriety tests and a breath test, Molina was arrested and charged with DWI, vehicular homicide, and two counts of causing great bodily harm by vehicle. Due to his history of DWI offenses and other charges, a judge ordered Molina to remain in custody until his trial.
