Flights canceled in Burlington, Montréal after fatal crash in New York

A fatal crash involving an Air Canada passenger jet and an airport fire truck has closed LaGuardia airport until 2 p.m.At least two people have died — the pilot and co-pilot of the flight. The cause of the crash is under investigation. The airport will be closed while that work is underway. The closure is impacting airports across the country, including the BTV Leahy International Airport in South Burlington. As of Monday morning, two flights were canceled. Both were either flying to or from LaGuardia. Plattsburgh International Airport has not reported any delayed or canceled flights.Flights are also impacted at the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, where the Jazz (ACA) flight that was involved in the crash originated. Fifteen flights were canceled at the Trudeau airport Monday morning. Thirteen of them were Jazz (ACA) flights scheduled to fly to or from LaGuardia.
