Five injured after personal watercraft crash on Clear Lake

Five people, including four minors, were injured Saturday evening after two personal watercraft crashed on Clear Lake. The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. near the McIntosh boat ramp, according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Investigators say one personal watercraft was carrying an adult and a minor, while the other was carrying three minors when the two watercraft collided. Witnesses and Iowa DNR conservation officers rescued everyone involved from the water. All five were taken to MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City for treatment. Officials said some of the victims suffered serious injuries. The identities of those involved have not been released while authorities work to notify their families. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
